Cupping (Silicone Cups)
Massage Cupping is a technique used to soften muscles, loosen adhesions, and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, and help open the lymphatic pathways. Cupping therapy is incredibly versatile, and the basic movements can easily be customized to accomplish a wide variety of techniques.
Cupping Contraindications and Safety Guidelines
Cupping is NOT for individuals with liver or kidney disorders, blood clotting disorders, or on any blood-thinning medication who are at risk of heart attack or stroke. We also will NOT provide cupping if you are currently dealing with an infection, have broken bones or torn ligaments, have had surgery less than 6 weeks prior, or if you are undergoing active cancer treatments. Cupping during pregnancy will only be done if you have been receiving regular cupping treatments prior to becoming pregnant, and it is not a high-risk pregnancy. In the above cases, we can usually safely provide massage without cupping!
